Ron comes from a long line of entertainers. His Grandfather David was in the legendary Royal Hawaiian Band that entertained hundreds of thousands in Hawaii. His Uncle Sonny was a well-known broadcaster in Hawaii with colleague Lucky Luck.
He was raised in Vacaville by his Grandmother Izzy who worked at Travis A.F.B. She would take him to work with her at night. That’s where Ron met and talked with hundreds of service men who were headed to Vietnam to fight in the war. They would buy him goodies, tell him stories and give him words of encouragement. To this day, Ron has a special place in his heart for all our heroes in the military.
Ron’s first time on the radio was in 1975 when he was featured on a radio commercial for “Matthews Top of the Hill Daly City on KFRC in San Francisco. The spot aired in the morning on the Dr. Don Rose Show. He went on to Chico State University and earned his bachelor’s degree in Radio and Television Communications.
Ron lives in Vacaville with his wife Lee Ann and loving pups Hana and Kona. His favorite things to do is spend time with his family including Grandson Dublin and Granddaughter Livvy.
