Nurse Appreciation Day: Today we Honor Nurses also known as Rock Stars

There’s a day for everything it seems, some are silly, but this one is super important. Today, June 4th, is Nurses Appreciation Day. I thought appreciated Nurses, I really did. But now I KNOW the depths of my appreciation. Here’s why.

This time last year my sister and best friend forever, Maria, spent over 3 weeks in the hospital after her appendix burst. She thought it was food poisoning. Finally after about a week of feeling terrible, she realized what the symptoms were and got herself to the hospital. Emergency surgery revealed her insides were what the doctors described black and gangrene.

It was a long and very terrifying road to recovery. She almost died and is very lucky to be here.

My sincere thanks to all the nurses who helped my sister recover and get back to her awesome self.

I’m thrilled to report, one year later, she is back to her usual amazing self and great health.

Thanks Nurses, you are Rock Stars!
