Powerhouse Comic Con is East Bay’s premier pop culture and comic convention bringing together fans of various fandoms for a day of family-friendly fun.
This year’s event is a celebration of the 55th anniversary of Ultraman. Join in the festivities with Special Guest Dore Kraus, an Australian actor who is well known for his role as Jack Shindo, the human host of Ultraman Great, in Ultraman: Towards the Future.
King King fans will be able to meet Linda Miller who is best known for her starring role as Lieutenant Susan Watson in “King Kong Escapes”. Widely distributed in the USA and throughout the world, the Toho sci-fi film cemented Linda’s place in popular culture as she joined the prestigious ranks of King Kong’s cinematic leading ladies.
Joining Linda Miller at the convention is Carl Craig. At age 10 Carl lived the dream of starring in a Japanese giant monster movie, playing the role of Jim Morgan, the all-American boy scout who helps Gamera thwart an alien invasion from the planet Viras in 1968’s “Destroy All Planets”, also known as “Gamera vs. Viras”.
Powerhouse Comic Con also features comic book artists, local comic book and toy vendors, panels, video games, and a cosplay contest with a cash prize.
