Lafayette: It’s a Wonderful Life in Lafayette Holiday Celebration
December 4 @ 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm
“It’s a Wonderful Life in Lafayette” Holiday Celebration is designed as a time to share holiday cheer as we celebrate this wonderful community we live in. Typically held on the first Sunday in December in Lafayette’s Plaza Park, this free, fun, family-friendly celebration includes Santa sightings, free train rides on the Lafayette Express, official holiday tree lighting ceremony, one-of-a-kind photo ops, live musical entertainment, kid’s crafts, holiday treats and more!
The “It’s a Wonderful Life in Lafayette” event is presented by the Lafayette Chamber, and sponsored by Branagh Development and the Dana Green Team who together are also hosting the environmentally-friendly downtown Lafayette twinkle lights for the 2022 Holiday Season.
Santa arrives on Lafayette’s first fire truck, Old Betsy, thanks to the Lafayette Historical Society and helpers at approximately 5pm. He will parade along Golden Gate Way from the Lafayette Library to Lafayette Plaza Park.
Mrs. Claus will be greeting guests at the Lafayette Express Train Station near The Lafayette Park Theater on Golden Gate Way.
Our MC, Dennis Markam, Town Hall Theatre, will introduce our holiday performances by Lafayette Nursery School, Stanley Middle School Chorus, Acalanes Choir, New You Dance Center, Performing Academy, and Myeve Capozzi Vocal Training.
The 3rd graders from Lafayette School District elementary schools and St. Perpetua School will have their artwork on display at the event. Community Foundation of Lafayette and the Lafayette Library and Learning Center will have kid’s activities.
The Rotary Club of Lamorinda Sunrise will be providing FREE hot chocolate! Thanks in advance to their helpers, AAUW-OML Ambassadors for STEM. The Park Theater Trust will be serving free popcorn from their lobby. Food for purchase includes Elf Treats from Lola’s Sweet Treats, and dinner from Halal Bites of Chicago. The Chamber will be hosting two bars including one on Plaza Way in Wheel Well! Our bars will be stocked with local drinks thanks to Hollie’s Homegrown, Headlands Brewing Company, Canyon Club Brewery, and Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling/Joe Dougherty. Stop by Hollie’s Homegrown for cider samplings too!
Need a wreath? They will be available for purchase from Troop 204.
