MODEL TRAIN LAYOUT at Blackhawk Plaza Benefits The Crayon Initiative
A vast wonderland of operating Model Trains and European countryside will be on display this holiday season from November 23rd through January 5th at the Blackhawk Plaza Shopping Center in Danville. The exhibit is open 10-5pm Wednesdays through Sundays, as well as Mondays and Tuesdays when schools are closed. Admission is $5.00 for children and adults.
Proceeds from the event benefit The Crayon Initiative. Presented and co-sponsored by the European Train Enthusiasts (ETE) and the GFWC LUCKI Ladies Club, this remarkable portable exhibit has delighted Bay Area visitors at different venues for more than 25 years. The ETE group has created remarkably detailed scale versions of European landscapes including mountains, villages, bridges, farms, lakes and industries which come alive when they operate their trains though this carefully constructed layout.
Visitors will see a wide selection of locomotives, freight and passenger cars from various European countries. Repeat visitors with see something new each day as different members of the group operate their trains for the enjoyment of all.
Proceeds benefit The Crayon Initiative, a Danville based program that recycles unwanted crayons, and turns them into new crayons which are repackaged and then donated to Children’s Hospitals nationwide.
