Businesses sought out to “Feed Tri-Valley” Food Drive

The cities of Pleasanton, Livermore and Dublin, and a consortium of local food providers—Open Heart Kitchen, Tri-Valley Haven, Interfaith Sharing, and Valley Bible Church—are currently seeking local businesses to be hosts for Feed Tri-Valley. Host organizations are designated as a collection site for grocery-store gift card donations, and may also place a Feed Tri-Valley barrel at their location for the duration of the two-week food drive, from July 9 through July 22, 2018.

The Feed Tri-Valley initiative began in 2016 to raise awareness about food insecurity for local people who are facing hunger in the summer and collected more than 5,000 pounds of food. According to Ann King, Tri-Valley Haven’s executive director, “Pleasanton, Dublin and Livermore food pantries and kitchens are especially in need of grocery-store cards, to replenish provisions that have dwindled since the holidays.”

Feed Tri-Valley is a community collaboration to end local hunger by giving locally. The cities of Pleasanton, Livermore and Dublin ask that you contact City of Pleasanton Recreation Supervisor Nicole Thomas at 925-931-3432 or nthomas@cityofpleasantonca.gov to sign up as a donation site.
