The Congressional App Challenge is a competition aimed at encouraging U.S. high school students to learn how to code by creating their own applications.
Alameda County students are encouraged to apply for the Bay East Association of Realtors scholarship program. Applications are due by May 6th.
The effects of the four-year drought have been especially hard on Dublin's western parks, and winter rains have brought widespread weeds. In order to bring the turf back to a healthy condition, the City of Dublin will temporarily close several parks this spring.

TriValley CoderDojo is a part of the larger CoderDojo global movement of free computer coding clubs for young people ages 8-17 years old.
The Livermore Police Department is working on a large-scaled anti-drunk driving program. They are trying to make and education efforts personal to the Tri-Valley area. They are asking the community to share names and photographs of family members that were killed in an impaired driving collision.

Adults who reside or work in Dublin may now apply for the Dublin Police Services 2016 Citizens’ Police Academy. The ten-week program will be held on Wednesdays, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, beginning on April 6. The Academy will culminate with a graduation on June 8.

Beginning the week of January 12, 2016, the Livermore Public Library will offer a teen tutor pilot program at the Civic Center library. Students in grades K through 10 are invited to sign up to meet one-on-one with a volunteer teen tutor for thirty minutes during a two-hour time block.
